If you like hills with a bit of bite then this was the weekend for you! Black Rock "5" on Friday, Spring Handicap at Beecraigs Parkrun on Saturday, Rigg Race at Balerno on Monday all with a challenging amount of climb.

Jonny finished 5th at Beecraigs in a new PB. We also had PBs from Sandy, Alan K, Rory, Claire W, Emma T (only 1 second away from a PB), John R, Jude, Stuart H, Karen, Kirsten, Maria, Emma P, and Phillip. From the results it looks as some lRC members were on pacing duty Stuart S was paced by Abigail, Sandy paced by Alan K, Kirsty G, Greggor and Jude all finished within 6 secs not sure who was doing the heavy lifting though, Maria and Emma P were only 5 secs apart although rumour has it they may have been chating more than pacing. Phillip was 17 secs faster than last week, ripening in the Spring as quick as his vegetables. Claire W improved her PB by 55 secs to record the 3rd fastest net time in the European League.

Stuart H, who it turns out cannot do simple arithemtic, knocked an impressive 3 mins 35 secs off his previous best time at Beecraigs to go top of the Commonwealth League and record the best net time so far for May. With only two Saturdays left in May only 5 of the 70 entrants have beaten their handicap time. Beecraigs is certainly living up to its reputation of being the 3rd hardest Parkrun in Scotland.
