Spring Handicap 2026 "The Year of the Volunteer" week 6

With a busy weekend of events there was a relatively low turnout of LRC Spring Handicappers at Beecraigs this week. Pineapple winners from Friday night Liz and Pillip showed that all night partying in Auld Reekie was not going to slow them down. Liz ran a course PB and and Phillip was only three seconds away from one. An impressive first time effort from Stuart L saw him finish in the top 10. Fresh from a hard sums exam the day before Rory put in a shift to record the 4th best Net time so far, and possibly 192 points. John J and Stuart M both ended up with the same Net times, both finding the steep incline a "challenge".

Drew was 14 secs quicker than the week before, Stevie was 7 secs faster this week and looks to be making a determined bid for the Commonwealth Title. Mick was 85 secs slower than his handicap to go 8th on Net times for this month, yes the course is that hard. After complaining about being relegated Martin ran a PB, perhaps the old yin still thinks he has a point to prove! Having scored maximum points at the recent MapRun event at Winchburgh Kirsten P was 26th of the 40 females.

Congratulations on their PBs, Drew, Stevie, Liz and Martin.

Only three weeks left to record a time at Beecraigs this month, good news is that Owen has organised a specific training session on the infamous Beecraigs Hills this Tuesday.
