It was a rain sodden course at Livingston on Saturday, wet under foot and definitely wet overhead. The camera gave up the ghost early doors but not the 24 intrepid LRC runners in search of Spring Handicap triple points. Congratulations to Kirsten on her course PB in such tough conditions. Not only did the biblical rain suit K it also suited John F, who by some miracle ran over 11 mins faster than his average for his last ten Parkruns! Like Red Rum he runs faster in the Spring, one step ahead of the handicapper. Stewart S was only one second away from his handicap and Hazel was 16 seconds away from hers.
With 35 people completing at least one run at Livingston I have added Provisional Points for June. These are very likely to change over the next two weeks. Ryan F has moved into 2nd place in the Olympic League with another impressive run, 27 seconds faster than his handicap. The aforementioned John F has moved 20 points clear at the top of the World League. Kirsten has leap frogged Martin to go 2nd in the European League. Philip and Joanne have moved up to joint 3rd in the Commonwealth League.
Saturday 21st June, is the designated Livingston Parkrun for Club Championship points, why not make it a 2 for 1 and grab some of those triple points for the Spring Handicap as well.
Only two Saturdays left in the 2025 edition of the Spring Handicap. Will the League Leaders hold on, will the challengers melt away in the expected mini heat wave this week? Will the warm weather make it easier for old joints to roll out of bed and roll back the years? Will you stay ahead/overtake your secret rival? All will be revealed by the end of June.
