LRC Spring Handicap, New Handicaps for June 2025

The Handicaps for June are in the attached file.

Your handicap will be subtracted from your best time at any of the 4 Livingston Parkruns in June. The person with the best net time will receive a massive 300 points, the 2nd person will get 297 points, 3rd will get 294 points and so on.

Your handicap is your 2nd fastest time from your last ten Parkruns. For those new to the Spring Handicap the reason we use the 2nd fastest time is that it is usually much closer to your average time for the last ten runs than your best time. It has nothing to do with some people agreeing the rules in the middle of winter then in the Spring having an absolute screamer round the pancake flat Strathclyde ParkRun then having the bare faced cheek to complain that it was not fair to use your fastest time in the last ten runs, (isn’t that right Sandy).

Not since Alan R left it to the last day in 2021 has the Spring Handicap been won on the last day. The last two winners, Abigail and Phillip, have went out early in June and put down an impressive marker that proved decisive. What will the four League Leaders do this year? Remember Triple Points in June for the first time this year could make all the difference.

Will Owen find enough points to overtake Scott, his reluctant convert to his Tuesday squad?
Will Stephanie find 4 places to overtake the very consistent Lindsay in the Commonwealth League? Not likely, however there have been strange reports, in the Livingston area, of a tall dark haired lady pushing a child uphill in a buggy chanting “Hills pays the Bills”
Will Jim be the first two time winner?

If you spot any mistakes then please let be know. Remember, it is Triple Points in June so anything can happen!
