This was week 8 of the LRC Spring Handicap, the 4th Saturday in May to to get a time at Polkemmet and the 6th year anniversary for Polkemmet Parkrun. There was fancy dress and lots of cakes. For the first time in a long time we had some rain which did not stop Mark F, Kenny, David and Mark Y from setting course PBs.

In The Olympic Divison Mark is the new leader, five points ahead of James. Ryan is third ahead of Jonny with only one Saturday left in May at Polkemmet.

Lana, who rushed away as she had a date with a boat, is now up to third in the World League. David is only only one point away in 4th. Not being able to tie his laces correctly, both came undone, has cost Russell at least 20 points and a spot in the top 2. John F has been awarded 41 points for April, he was Run Director at Livingston and missed his chance to run at Auldcathie. Using his handicap and Allan W’s best time seemed the fairest way to award points.

John R back in the lead in the European League, 2nd place is Jim A who was marshalling at the top of the hill and twice offered the following advice “Take it easy John, there is no rush”.

No change at the top of the Commonwealth League. However, Andy was not offering to push the buggy this week as he provisionally bagged 140 points.

With one week left at Polkemmet the following questions will be answered next Saturday. Will Driss and the Camerons find there way to the Telly Tubby Horn?
Will Russel remind Liz that she has only one week left to capitalise on her excellent 84 points from April?
Will Thomas give up playing football with the stars of stage and screen to record a time?
With no SQA exams left to sit will Danny still run like the wind?

All will be answered next week, as final points for May will be added to the table.
