Yesterday saw the 6th event, the East District Champs, in the club cross country season. This was held at Stirling University Campus. Moray Pryde finished an impressive 4th in the Men’s race, just 8 seconds outside the medals. The men’s team finished 5th with club coach Owen winding back the clock to finish our 6th counter. Danny and Rachel both again scored good points in the Junior Races. The Masters women’s team finished 10th, the Men’s Masters team finished 12th. A good day all round, with 20 LRC finishers.
Similar to previous seasons, points are allocated based on the median time for your race divided by your finish time and then multiplied by 1000. So if you are the median finisher you gain 1000 points, if you are quicker than the median you score more than 1000 etc. If you are not sure what the median is then ask a “friendly” Maths teacher if you can find one!
A total of nine events are available with your best 5 races to count, please note the final race at the National Champs in Falkirk is worth 25% more points.
Danny is sitting top of the table with a slender 24 point lead over Moray, both have 2 more events before the of the season, the East District League at Bathgate in January and the National Champs at Falkirk in February. Similar for Rachel who is in 3rd place. Kirsty and Jonny, who make up the top 5, have an additional event the Scottish Masters, where they have a good chance of improving on their points total.
